Athithi is the second film of Bharathan who
has already directed the first one, the alagia tamil mahal very
successfully. This is nothing but the
remake of Malayalam film ‘Kocktail’, released in the year 2010. The film is full of suspense and anxiety and
it revolves round the various difficulties faced by Nantha and Annania who have
been married after the great opposition from their respective parents. All the
problems originate when Nantha prevents the illegal swindling of money from the
construction company where he is working by his co-workers.
Though the co-workers are highly irritated
with Nandha, he discharges his work sincerely as usual and the proprietor of
the company presents a car as a gift for his sincerity and devotion to the
company .When Nandha and Annania are travelling in the very same car, both of
them are abducted by Nekash Ram and he gives a lot of mental torture to
both. They have been informed about the
abduction of their loving daughter and demands a huge amount for the release of
their daughter. The reason for the mental torture given to Nantha and Annania
is not revealed till the climax and it tantalizes the spectators in a great
misery of suspense. The film is made
interesting by the witty role of the director Bharathan.
