Film Review

The movie revolves round the Madurai city, and partly reflects the culture of Madurai city.  The movie starts with Sivan (Mohan Lall), who is a Madurai based Don.  His adopted son Shakti (Vijay) had an aversion towards police officials as his father was killed by a police personnel.

Shakti is the most trusted man of Sivan.  Both of them are living haply till Shakti is forced to quit Sivan by a police officer.   Now Sivan is frustrated and he plans to make Shakti a police officer so that he could do all his misdemeanors smoothly.Sivan’s dreams become true when Shakti becomes the Assistant Commissioner.  Time passes gently, Sivan and his men freely discharge all their Criminal activities.  As his miss-deeds have been increased, Shakti dislikes them and conducts a massive operation against Sivan and decides to become an honest police officer.  Shakti tries his best level to change the life style of his foster father, Sivan, but ends in vain.

In the meanwhile the angry Sivan provokes Shakti by not inviting his daughter’s marriage.  Shakti is highly depressed because he is highly affectionate with her.  Later when Mahalakshmi is under a critical problem from her father-in-law, Shakti rescues her.

At last, Sivan and Shakti reconcile and the move ends with a reformed Sivan, who asks Shakti to arrest him for his miss-deeds,
